Automotive Service Advisor

Job Summary
Success oriented individual who will effectively communicate with customers concerning preventive maintenance, service needs and repair costs of motor vehicles presented for service. Exceed customers’ expectations and deliver the WOW factor while working as part of a team to meet departmental goals and objectives.

Essential Duties
- Determine customer's initial expectations of service visit and need for scheduled maintenance
- Recommend vehicle repair and maintenance to customer based upon initial customer request, customer explanation, analytical process, management direction, vehicle operation, manufacturer guidelines and online resources
- Promote sale of products and services mutually beneficial to customer and dealership
- Communicate effectively with service technicians and management about ordered maintenance and repair work
- Assign time to each job based on customer labor time guide designated by management
- Follow up to verify customer satisfaction
- Build relationships with customers to promote repeat and referral service business.

- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or six months to one year related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Should have working knowledge of applicable manufacturer's diagnostic system and shop manuals.
- Ability to use computers for mathematical calculations, word processing, emails, research, training, testing, customer interaction and as may be required for the effective execution of all dealership and manufacturer processes and procedures
- Well-organized and ability to multi-task to maintain work flow and customer satisfaction
- Winning attitude, excellent communication and sales skills and strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction
- Valid driver's license maintained throughout employment

Automotive Technician

Job Summary
Diagnose vehicle problems, competently maintain and repair vehicles in a professional, neat and timely manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:

Analyzes the need for scheduled maintenance and repair of vehicles; diagnoses vehicle problems using customer explanation, personal observation, vehicle operation, technical diagnostic equipment, printed publications and online resources. Repairs vehicles based upon analysis with approval of management. Uses parts from sources approved by management. Takes care to keep vehicle neat and clean. Respects property of customers and the privacy of any materials left in the vehicle.

Communicates effectively with management about vehicle diagnoses and recommended maintenance and repair work; calls attention to management of needed or recommended repairs outside of initial request. Follows management guidance in repair process; protects privacy of customer information at all stages of service process; adheres to governmental regulations and dealership policies pertaining to vehicle service and customer relationships.

Completes repairs within time frame designated by labor time standards manual adopted by management or, if warranty repairs, the manufacturer’s Service Labor Time Standards Manual.

Acquires and maintains comprehensive knowledge of vehicles serviced by dealership; completes training and testing specified by management; maintains manufacturer’s and ASE certifications as required by dealership; develops and maintains information processing skills specified by management consistent with dealership’s mode of conducting its service business.

Conducts business in a courteous manner with customers and dealership personnel; maintains a neat appearance; adheres to dealership dress standards for the position as set by management from time to time.

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or six months to one year related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Should have working knowledge of the SBDS (Ford Service Bay Diagnostic System), SBTS and shop manuals.

Language Skills

Ability to speak clearly and comprehend the English language; ability to read and comprehend complex service manuals and online repair information and instructions in the English language; ability to effectively communicate diagnostic conclusions to service advisors and management.

Mathematical & Computer Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages customarily involved in the diagnosis and repair of vehicles. Ability to use computers for mathematical calculations, basic word processing, service research, training and testing.

Reasoning Ability

 Ability to understand and carry out instructions in written or oral form related to the diagnosis and repair of vehicles; ability to comprehend detailed product and repair information provided by manufacturers.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license maintained with any change in driving privileges reported immediately to management; manufacturer’s certification for servicing vehicles sold by dealership; ASE certificates for all repairs to be undertaken by technician;

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms; the employee is regularly required to talk and hear at normal speaking levels. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration, risk of electrical shock and outside weather conditions. The employee is expected to operate or be a passenger in customer vehicles driven on private property and public roads as part of the vehicle diagnostic process. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

Porter – Full Time

Job Summary
Klaben Auto Stores is seeking a Porter – 40 Hour Work Week.

Summary of Essential Duties
Transport customers, pickup up and deliver fleet vehicles to companies, clean service shop, remove trash, keep lot clean, maintain landscape, wash cars, inspect and receive new vehicles, perform other miscellaneous duties as needed.

Job Requirements
Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record; must obey all traffic laws while operating company vehicles.

Must maintain neat and clean appearance; should be personable and properly represent Klaben Auto Stores due to direct contact with customers.

Prior experience desirable but not required. Reliability and desire for good hard work is required.

Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds, often lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.
